A 360 degree view of Greenwich Point at the Old Greenwich Yachtclub at dusk.
Greenwich Point is a peninsula in long island sound, connected to the mainland via a narrow driftway. Most attractive in the summertime is its beach, but the Point also offers nature trails, wetlands and woods. Since it is only open to residents of Greenwich it is usually not crowded, and since it is also just 5 minutes from our home, we used go there a lot.
As you can see by the pictures of Tim and Ricco the images below are a couple of years old. Their interest in the point has changed since. They tend to be less keen on building sand castles or climbing trees now. We still enjoy "the point" regularly to relax at the beach, to take a stroll, go jogging, or to rent a boat and go sailing.

Pirate beach has lots of trees to climb on, driftwood to discover, and on clear days, the New York skyline can be seen.

During low tide, you can find all kinds of crabs in the shallow water.

Summer at the beach is a blast! While Kerstin catches some rays reading, the kids and I usually built castles, dams or canals and watch it all being destroyed by the rising tide.
